Qualities I Have for My Dream Job: English Teacher

In our life, there are things we want to do and things we have to do. When it comes to deciding on a job career, there are always conflicts between the two. In many cases, once we choose to do what we like to do as a job, we end up hating the work. That is why a great number of people have a job that they do not really enjoy doing in order to make a living. For such reason, I have wondered if it was right to choose to do what I like to do as a job. Considering the linguistic, social and confident aspect of myself, however, I couldn't help but to come to a conclusion that I should be an English teacher.
To begin with, I have high proficiency in English as a potential English teacher. I can say I am qualified because I've been studying English in depth for long time. I have always had great affection in learning English. I graduated from the international school where all the subjects were taught in English and daily conversation was carried in English. I was exposed to English speaking environment for several years. On top of that, I have put extra efforts to outdo any other people who learn English. In preparation for the tests like TOEIC, TOEFL or OPIC, I used all different means of medium: books, news articles and magazines. In result, I became a fluent English speaker and have profound knowledge in it. This, I believe is the fundamental qualification for an English teacher.
Moreover, I have good social skills which are necessary for a teacher. I am a social, well-rounded and open-minded person. For example, when it comes to dealing with other people, I know how to talk in a good manner, how to react or respond to the person I'm talking to, and how to lead the conversation with proper strategies. Because of the communicative skills I have, people around me feel comfortable being with me. Even since high school, I have been very much used to hanging out with a variety of people. Naturally I came to develop my interpersonal skills. Also, I personally love getting along with people whether they are new, from other countries, young or old, men or women. Such quality will certainly help me deal with students I will be teaching. In teaching, affective domain is a big deal and I, as a social person, am perfectly ready to be humane, caring and understanding teacher.
Last of all, I am qualified an English teacher because I have a great confidence in myself. As you read along the above reasons I've discussed, you probably noticed that I am quite certain about who I am and what I have. I always try to value myself high and respect myself. I've been trying hard to reach to the point where I am. I never took things for granted. Also, I was never fully satisfied about myself because then I would stop trying hard enough. I set goals high enough so that I could always be motivated to do my best for the betterment. My confidence does not come out of nowhere. There are reasons for it and therefore I can boast about it. Being confident as a teacher will allow me to be motivated to be professional, encourage me to have pride in the job, and enable me to be responsible for my students as a teacher. Thus, I am more than qualified to be and English teacher.
To put in a nutshell, it is possible for me to assure that I am ready to get my dream job- English teacher for several reasons. I am linguistically knowledgeable, communicatively competent and mentally stable. Being an English teacher is never easy. Yet, with all the great qualities I have, I am certain that I can be one. I'll never stop investing my time, effort and money in order to become a promising, respectful and decent English teacher.

  1. I enjoyed your essay. First of all, your essay was really well-organized, so it was easy to read and understand your points. And you used various transition words effectively. And you mentioned your own story explaining how you became to value yourself high. It helps readers understand why you want to be a teacher and who you are. Lastly, "great number of people have jobs" is better than "great number of people have a job". I wish you can be a great English teacher:)

    hello
I am totally agree with from the first sentence. That we do some things we really want to do and some things only because we must do it.
I am impressed by your essay. I can see the improvements in the structure and other things. I was enjoying reading that.
From the reading I had, the only word is appropriate which is *confident*
You are making clear what you want to emhasize by using the string expressions like " I have good social skills which are necessary for a teacher.", "I can say I am qualified because..." and so on.
Be frank I even do not know what you have to improve in this essay)))
    keep on going
