JOB is DREAM for REALITY
The biggest issue for the graduating student is a job. The job choice is an easy deal, but it is not the easy thing to make the right choice which will make you happy and give possibilities to satisfy all your needs in this life. And I have to find the answer for this question too. The time is going fast and I have to decide which job I am appreciate to do and do I have needed skills and knowledge to do that job. For this moment I am planning to deal with car industry, which is import and export of cars and repair parts with all required service support. For me it would sound car business but it is not the car trade. Because trade the process when you just sell things to the people which you do not know and possibly will not see again, but the business is making the relationship, understanding the culture and preferences, the way of thinking and an infinite accumulation of the knowledge and flexibility a various areas such as economy, policy and so on. So, now I would like to consider the starting skills I have and the skills I am lack of in order to do that kind of the business.
First of all it is language. Because if I want to be able to communicate and learn from the country citizens with whom I am going to make a partnership, the knowing of the language is important thing. Of course I am not perfect in English, Korean and Kazakh, and even in Russian. But I am putting all my efforts in order to improve it and make it sound more natural. Because if I can speak the language, even little, it gives me the uniqueness and it will make the opposite side consider you as a potential partner and in case of the choice they would like to choose the person who can speak their language instead of a person who cannot. The communication is important and documentary is essential factor too. When we doing business knowing the details is very important, therefore if I want to know the details I have to be able to read the documents in both languages in order to avoid the trick situation. So language is a good helper to make the first step for doing business, it is like a bridge between two mountains. It helps to know much more about your potential partner through the conversation and in order not being trapped in the tricky situation.
Next skill is flexibility. Here I am fifty and fifty. I have to work much more on the flexibility. Because being flexible means the ability to turn the worse situation into the beneficial and profitable conditions. It is also the talent to smile to people even you hates so much. I know that skill of the changing the situation into win-win way can be accumulated through the time, but I will have some problems with overcoming the ability to smile to people I do not like. This is will be a big challenge for me. Because despite the fact that in my family I was educated like Korean, at the same time I got the education on the streets which makes me a mixture of the cultural education. By noticing that I mean that I am not a totally Asian type of culture when they can smile to each other even they do not like each other. And I am not saying that in my countryside the people are not doing so, because human being is everywhere is the human being. But they are not so skillful at hiding their emotions. Here I can say that ability and talent to be flexible is very important when I will do my business. Because business is a job when I will have to make benefit myself at most and at the same time to feel satisfied my partner with the smiling face.
The last thing is the background and knowledge of the product I will be dealing with. It is very important, because even if I am flexible and very natural at speaking languages, I will not be able to make any deal with partner if I can tell nothing about the good I am going to import or export. And the knowledge of the product must be mixed up with the great sense of knowing the economical process, political conditions and attitude of the both governments toward the trade policies and so on. I have a surface knowledge of the economy and policy, but the most valuable knowledge will be gotten when I will face the real process of that. However I believe that I will catch up fast with the whole system and will improve my basic knowledge till the perfect ability to analyze the situation and the good I am going to import or export. The knowledge is very important, because through the knowledge I can show my skills, my potentiality and ability to manipulate with my knowledge in the tight way.
As we can see that flexibility, knowledge and language are very important and essential in my future business. I cannot say that I am fully qualified for this job, but I cannot say that I am not qualified, because I have the time to catch up with all these factors and become a skillful person.
