The Three steps to be happy
What's your definition of happiness? Being rich, loved or popular, or being all these three at the same time? Aristotle said 'Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence'. According to what he said, we can say that happiness is the ultimate goal of all the people's life. However, everybody has his or her own answer to this question, 'How can we be happy?' Today, I'll explain to you the three steps to the way to happiness.
First, you should know what you lack. We always need something. Even Bill Gates needs something. It's just all different what we want. You may need money if you don't have enough, or someone who you love or love you if you feel lonely. You may want rest if you're a busy person, or you may want a job if you have nothing to do. But sometimes people just don't know what they want or need. So it's our first assignment to find that out.
Next, you need to set the priority. Ok, now you found out what you need. There can be just one, but most time there are several. For instance, you want to make money and hang out with friends at the same time, but you know you can't do that. That's why you should set what's first and second. The standards of setting the priority can be anything since all the individuals have different values in their mind. Once you finished doing it, you're ready to do the next thing.
Last, you should fill the part. The energy that makes us happy comes from what we do, not what we don't do. Just knowing what you need and setting the priority are not enough to make us happy. The most important thing is that you must do something for yourself. Fill the holes that cause your dissatisfaction. With and after doing it, you feel content and happy. It is often hard to achieve what you need but it doesn't matter.
What do you think is the hardest for you to do among these three? Perhaps none can be easy. You don't even know what you need, you can't say what's first even if you know that, or you're not capable of doing the thing you should do. I suppose that's why people seek the answer for the question I wrote above. Just remember one thing, 'Actions speak louder than words'. It's time for you to do the thing that should be done to make yourself happy.
Your essay was so logical and detailed that I felt like I should do something right now! XD Also, the structure of your essay was very well organized!
ReplyDeleteYour main point seems to be, "To be happy, first, find out what you want to do; second, list the things according to the priority; and lastly, practice."
You wrote, "The energy that makes us happy comes from what we do, not what we don't do." This line struck me especially powerfully.
Everything was clear to me.
If there is one thing I want to mention, it would be even better if you put the concluding sentence at the very beginning of your conclusion to restate your idea!
For me, your writing is good enough! Good job!!
First of all, what I felt most impressive about your writing was the way you see the world. Not only logical flow and fine structure, but also the active and enthusiastic perspective toward the life struck me very powerful so that I can say that I'm entirely convinced by your opinion. The three steps you introduced was also brilliant and persuasive that faithfully supports your main idea. I think this is undoubtedly good essay.
